|“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 1John 3:17-18|| |
Who We Are and What We Do?
How can you help and How can you get started?
We are a group of community members who literally volunteer our hands and feet and hit the streets in downtown Phoenix to feed our poorest of poor Brothers and Sisters. Along with providing food and water to “the least of these”. We are slowly building relationships. Whether it’s just lending an ear or providing advice – we start by just “showing up.”
We also provide blankets and sleeping bags when the need arises. Clothing, shoes, tents, bags – you name it. If there’s need, we do our best to fill it.
There are times of joy and times of sadness – but the most important thing we can do is just
Imagine if just your eye contact and a smile meant everything to that person that day. What if they were at the “end of their rope” that day – but you cared enough to just show up and express to them that there is LOVE, that they do matter?
Every Saturday morning, we gather at NCC to pack the day’s lunches. (go around to the back) We meet at 7:30 a.m. and pack approximately 100 sack lunches.
Immediately following, we then carpool and caravan to downtown Phoenix. Usually we leave by 8am and spend a couple of hours on the streets.
We need your help. We have a relatively small regular group that goes down every Saturday.
